Over the last couple of years, British hard rock band Heaven’s Basement have been seen touring with the likes of Buckcherry, Blind Melon, Papa Roach, Black Stone Cherry, Bon Jovi and more. Now they have their own tour and this particular leg sees them at the Bristol O2 academy, supported by fellow rockers Dear Superstar and The Crave.

It’s not been an easy start to the year for Heaven’s Basement. The end of January - a month before the start of their UK tour - saw them advertising for a new lead singer to replace Richie Heavanz. Today however it seems a distant memory with new front man Jonny Fallen (previously of The Fallen) fitting in flawlessly. Sporting a distinctive Vince Noir feather cut, Jonny took to the stage with a presence and soon had the crowd singing along and shouting for more, but with only a 6 track ep to their name, there wasn’t a lot more to go round. However, what they did play was a pretty good set of classic rock.
Their style is mixture of 70s and 80s hard rock, the songs switching between the hard, melodic and semi psychedelic, with hints of Guns n Roses, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, early Metallica, Jane’s Addiction and a big scoop of Velvet Revolver in both sound and attitude.

Overall, not a bad show, demonstrating there is still a demand for old school rock and there are people out there keenly willing to supply it in big, dirty handfuls.
