We have all had times where we want to leave our physical bodies behind and drift off into another world. If your world was one of a virtual more computerised nature, then ‘Transcending The Real World’ by Virtual Humans may be the ideal company you need on your travels.
Virtual Humans is literally that. In this case, created back in 2008 by Heider Broisler Falcao, with no actual singers, no one pounding drums, striking guitars or anything physical as such, merely computerised and on the Internet. The songs tend to focus and slide more into the rock genre, however there are influences of indie, pop and electronic music as well as apparently adding rap, jazz and African rhythmic sections to the blend at times. Heider is the songwriter behind the concept and focuses lyrics on social and human issues, with an emphasis on motivating listeners to put thought into what they are hearing, reflect on it and consider what can be done about it.
Without knowing how the music is actually created it is possible to be dubbed into thinking Virtual Humans could actually be a live band, singer/songwriter, guitarist and everything else that makes some music so enjoyable to listen to. The virtual concept is a situation that can be tough to grasp, as Virtual Humans has none of the elements that make them a band, yet it cannot be denied that there is someone singing. What is difficult to overcome, is that no matter how enjoyable a song can be online, eventually if you’ll want to see if live, Virtual Humans cannot do that, seeing as they live in a little folder on computer somewhere.
The music created by Virtual Humans is much easier on the mind than trying to understand the way it is created.
